However, you must know that there are different variations of blackjack, and each one has its little differences in terms of the rules. That is why it is essential to always read the rules of the table you will be gambling at before playing.

The objective of blackjack is to get a total of points higher than the dealer without exceeding 21 points; he must beat the dealers score without going over that figure.

If the player exceeds 21 points, he loses his bet. If the player scores 21 points it is a blackjack, and automatically wins. The dealer deals two cards to every player and asks the player furthest to the left if he or she wants an additional card; then, the player can draw (ask for a card) as many times as he wishes, as long as it does not exceed 21. When the player is satisfied with the total obtained, he asks to stand; and the dealer will continue with the other player next to that one.

The value of the cards are the following: the Ace will be worth 11 or 1 depending on the play, from card 2 to 10 is equivalent to its value, figures are worth 10 points.

Basic concepts of Blackjack

Hit: After a player receives his initial two cards, he is given the option to “Hit” (draw an additional card) in hopes of increasing the total value of his hand. or to A player may hit multiple times until he is satisfied with his total hand or until he goes over 21 and is out of the game.

Stand: The player also has the option to “Stand” (no more draw).

Split: if the first two cards are of the same numerical value, the player can separate them, placing an additional bet (it must be of the same amount as the original bet). One more card is served on each of the separate cards, each set of two cards constituting an independent play.

Double Down: Is placing an additional bet on the original, then the dealer serves the player a single card on top of the initial two, the player cannot ask for another card.  Every casino has rules for this play

Surrender: This option is not always available. If the player considers that his first two cards will not be able to beat the dealer, he can surrender losing only half of his initial bet. Very few casinos allow this.

Insurance: When the dealer’s face-up card is an ace (great chance of hitting blackjack), the player can protect himself by making a safety fund with half the amount of his bet. If the dealer gets blackjack he pays the player twice the insurance bet.
